We’re a small but ambitious arts charity on an exciting journey. We are transforming a half-acre industrial heritage site - New River Head Clerkenwell - into the national centre for illustration and a home for Quentin Blake’s archive.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic, diligent and motivated individual to join the team as Management Accountant (Maternity Cover) as we establish the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration at the New River Head heritage site. This is an exciting time for the Centre with construction on our new home now well underway.

This part time role supports a small, expanding and busy team and requires meticulous attention to detail and a flexible approach to working. As we gear up operations towards opening the new Centre in early 2026 the role will broaden and become more varied. It would ideally suit someone who can plan ahead, needs very little supervision, be forward-looking and have a can-do attitude.

The post holder will be able to efficiently administrate all finance procedures including processing purchase and sales invoices, doing payment runs, bank reconciliations, management accounts preparation, accruals / prepayments, VAT returns and assist with the annual financial audit.

The ideal candidate will have excellent Excel skills, experience of using cloud-based accounting systems (currently using Quickbooks) and have the ability to identify opportunities for system improvements and implement new procedures. They will be comfortable working in a small and busy open plan office, with the ability to plan and prioritise to meet multiple deadlines and support different departments.

You will also be a great team-player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues across the Centre. Your work will reflect our values of compassion, curiosity, equity, relevance and rigour.

We champion art that is dynamic, diverse and inclusive; we want our team to reflect that. We’re very happy to explore alternative working patterns.

In recognition of underrepresentation in our staff team we will be offering guaranteed interviews to D/deaf and disabled applicants and applicants of African, Caribbean, Central Asian, East Asian, Latinx, South Asian, South East Asian and West Asian heritage whose applications meet the essential criteria listed in the Job Pack.

Please see the Job Pack for more details on the role, what we are looking for and how to apply. If you have any queries, please email us at jobs@qbcentre.org.uk.

We are registered as a Disability Confident employer. Please let us know if you have any access requirements that need to be met to support you to make an application or participate in the interview process jobs@qbcentre.org.uk.

An online information evening for this role will take place on Tuesday 12th August from 6pm – 7pm BST. This is an opportunity to meet our team, find out more about our work and ask questions about the role. If you would like to attend, please email jobs@qbcentre.org.uk and ask us for joining details.
