About the presenters

Orange Beak Studio was founded in 2017 by award-winning children’s book professionals Maisie Paradise Shearring and Ness Wood. Maisie, Ness and their associates are all practicing specialists in illustration, design and editorial. They offer one-to-one tutorials, contract, fees and signing advice, portfolio feedback and workshops, talks and lectures.

Sharon King-Chai is an award-winning designer and illustrator. Her book Starbird won the Greenaway Shadowers’ Choice Awards in 2021. She has also collaborated with best-selling author Julia Donaldson on Animalphabet and Counting Creatures.

Helen Weir is senior editor at Two Hoots, an illustrated imprint of Pan Macmillan. She has worked on books with Bethan Woollvin, Emily Sutton and Dapo Adeola.
