Create your own compelling picture book character in this one-day online workshop with expert guidance from award-winning author and illustrator Claire Alexander.

You’ll explore successful characters from classic picture books and discover what makes them appealing to children, parents, carers, teachers and publishers.

You’ll write a character study based on an animal of your choice, then bring it to life using collage, creating a colour vignette with personality and charm.

This workshop is also a fantastic opportunity to gain insight into a successful picture book-maker’s practice. You will find out about Claire’s published projects and get useful tips on how to present your ideas to publishers.
